SONARPUR: Six CPM supporters, including MLA Shyamal Naskar, party zonal secretary Kajal Dey and zonal member Susanta Ghosh, were injured on Sunday night when they were attacked allegedly by Trinamool supporters in Sonarpur. They were returning home after a meeting at Sonarpur More when the incident occurred.They alleged that a few weeks ago, some CPM men had been driven out of the locality by Trinamool activists and that they haven't been able to return since. The meeting on Sunday night was organised to bring those CPM workers back to their homes.The party leaders later lodged a complaint at Sonarpur police station. A Trinamool spokesman later said those who had been driven out of the area are CPM-backed goons and his party would not allow them in the locality.
